Our Favorite Christmas Gifts for Toddlers
Well, it’s early November. The stores have long since started changing displays into Christmas, music on the radio is starting to change, and folks have begun shopping.
Oh, the shopping. Best of luck to you – it’s a madhouse out there.
Not to mention, toddlers can be SO tough to buy for. You struggle about buying another Christmas gift that may or may not keep their attention for a week, only to have it collect dust in the corner somewhere.
My husband and I regularly gather up items that aren’t being used and put them away to bring back out (new again!) or send to Goodwill. Because … Too. Much. Clutter. End of story.
Which is why I’ve combed through Target’s, Toys “R” Us and Amazon’s catalogs to find the best Christmas gift ideas for toddlers – I’ve listed out my favorite 10 below!
The benefits of checking out our list:
1) Each of these gifts are easily ordered off Amazon, which means all you Prime users will get these in two days. Done. And if you haven’t got Prime? Consider getting it (it was worth it for me last Christmas time alone!) and at the moment you can try it for free for 30 days.
2) We chose gift ideas that are rated 4 stars and up and can be enjoyed by several different ages. This means their shelf lift is much longer and you can get some good use out of them.
Hope you enjoy and get some ideas from our list below! Good luck!
I love, love, love the idea of this toy. This Fisher Price “Code a Pillar is an awesome toy that promotes cognitive skill development and just is pure cool. Kids can “configure” the code-a-pillar to make it light up and move different directions by connecting each of the segments in different combinations.
This toy is listed at 36 months to 8 years, which also means it has some shelf life. Lastly, it ranks very high – another win from Fisher Price this year.
This particular toy won Amazon infant/toddler toy of the year, so you know it’s awesome! The Bright Beats Dance & Move by Fisher Price doll is pretty cool. Its has a large LED grid tummy with tons of buttons that lead to various phrases, songs and dance moves.
It also has three different modes that “grow” with your child so you’re not stuck with the same sounds and music over and over again.
I love this one! So many toddlers really start to get into imaginative play around the ages of 2 or 3, and this cash register is the perfect gift. My daughter loves to play with “money” and love to help pay cashiers when we’re at the store.
Perfect idea for a toddler who already has a play kitchen or shopping cart, so you can add some props to their imagination!
So we have this toy personally, as we received it as a birthday gift for my daughter when she turned two.
It’s awesome for two reasons. 1) The different pieces help teach shapes and colors and promote imaginative thinking, and 2) There are lots of pieces (which usually makes parents groan) but they are magnetic and easily stick to the board. It makes clean up and keep this toy together A LOT easier.
Ahh, Duplos. You don’t get much better than those at this age. They are big enough to not be a hazard for little mouths, and they create endless amounts of entertainment. This is a perfect idea for a little one who loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes! Or search for other Duplo packages here!
This Vtech Touch and Learn Activity Desk is a great idea for toddlers who are beginning to sit down and learn their ABCs, 123s, etc. The table comes with an activity center that includes 160+ vocab words, 30+ learning activities, and 20+ popular melodies; 9 colorful touch pages each with 4 learning modes.
The activity center also includes a LED screen that instructs how to write letters step by step, and you can flip up the table so it becomes an easel for drawing.
VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Ultimate Amazement Park Playset
This is a perfect toy for any toddler who loves to play with trains, trucks or cars – there is tons of loops and ways to play. It comes with the Vtech Smartpoint technology that makes sounds at different points around the tracks.
You can also connect tracks with the VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels and Animals set as well for continued play down the road!
This one is a bestseller on Amazon and perfect for any little girl or boy who loves Barbie.
Her Dream House includes lots of tiny details like sounds that mimic teeth brushing, a TV stand that fits your iPhone for actual show viewing, and a working elevator. I love the fact that this promotes a ton of imagination skills and pretend-play!
This B. Woofer guitar is perfect for promoting your toddler’s auditory skills (see more ideas for promoting that particular skill here).
It comes with three play modes, 8 musical buttons and 20 songs to sing along with. This is also a great gift for developing your toddler’s fine motor skills!
This 4-in-1 Stroll ‘N Trike is pretty cool and super versatile. It’s made by Radio Flyer, and it goes all the way from an infant trike to a classic trike (9 months to 5 years).
It also includes a storage bin, canopy, cup holder and safety tray – most of which you can take on and off as needed. Great toy by Radio Flyer that will actually last!
