Ahhh, baby showers. People scrambling to find the right gift, and it usually ends up being baby clothes. To help you find the perfect idea, we’ve put together our top 10 list of baby shower gifts!
Baby showers are a good time, but it can be tough to find the right baby shower gift if the mom isn’t registered, or if she’s on her second or third child.
Even if there is a registry, those gifts are sometimes taken or people feel slightly let down when purchasing something dull like a bottle cleaner or baby lotion.
As a result, most moms usually end with a ton of adorable baby clothes, but they may end up with too much of one size or one season.
Having shopped for MANY of these events recently, I’ve put together a list of my favorite top 10 baby shower gifts.
I’ve tried to pick ideas that work for both first-time moms and second-time moms, knowing that it can be harder to find something for the mom of multiple children.
When purchasing for an expectant mother, always remember that she will probably need things that most folks don’t think about, so be sure to think about what you use as a parent.
My favorite go-to item is a stroller hook – I had NO idea I’d be using it so frequently to hang things off the back of the stroller when out and about shopping.
Best of luck shopping to you! Be sure to also check out our post about favorite baby product recommendations from other moms!
TOP 10 BABY SHOWER GIFTS
These baby stickers are perfect for a new mom looking to showcase her baby’s growth month over month, and also for second time moms who may be looking for a fresh set or one for a different gender.
I LOVE this idea – no more blankets flying off the stroller! There have been so many news articles about ensuring that your newborn stays cool in the summer heat, and warm enough in the winter. New moms are constantly out walking when they can, which is a great way to recover postpartum.
So this is not anything super innovative, but it is a best seller on Amazon. A great way to capture those early photos and/or give to grandparents as a brag book!
So first of all, I love Aveeno’s products. They always smell superb, and are super gentle on baby. I received a few of these baskets when my daughter was born, and I always appreciated having them available. You can never have too much baby soap. Especially when your daughter (now a toddler) likes to dump them all over the bathtub in one go and then they’re empty. Oh lord.
*This one is actually also good for a second or third-time mom, because if they have another toddler like mine, they will probably also need more baby soap and lotion.
So the organizer in me LOVES this idea. Many of the moms I know have places in their houses where stacks of diapers are thrown in a corner, next to a wipe packet and random diaper rash lotions. This looks so much nicer, and can go in baby’s nursery, or tucked away in a living room somewhere. I would have loved this gift.
So this one is super cool. If you’re like us, or see families like us, we’re constantly lugging around infants and things to carry them in. This is actually a great travel item to bring on vacations or to friends’ houses, or even to use as your main high chair. It folds up and is instantly able to be put away, and can be used for toddlers up to three years old.
This is amazing! I can’t tell you how many times we are searching for lost pacifiers, bottles, shoes, etc. in our car. Every mom can appreciate the organization here, especially with multiple kids. Great gift idea!
Can I just say that I love these? I have to admit that I like a certain preppy style, but these bibs are a cute accessory for any mom to throw in their diaper bag. And second time moms most certainly can appreciate new bibs, given the fact the first round of bibs may not have survived some food incidents (if you’re like my children!)
These are some of my favorite baby toys. They are perfect to give to baby once he/she can grip, and they are also perfect to clip to a stroller and keep on-the-go while walking or shopping. They’re colorful, make different noises, and are great stimulation. Second time moms can definitely appreciate having some of these to throw in different places, like the car or the nursery, even if she has a couple already.
Um, hello, gift cards. These may not be the most exciting of gifts, but almost every veteran mother will tell you that they are SO appreciated. Because half the time you don’t realize what you actually need until it arises, and then you can use the money to actually buy something you’ll use. Always a good bet.
